Pictured is similar to what one would receive with a starter Acoustic Startle Package (MED-ASR-PRO). The only difference between this and a starter package is in the bottom rack mount chassis. Pictured is a ANL-925 Audio Generator with four ANL-925B Acoustic Chamber Interface Modules. A starter package would contain only one ANL-925B module.
Several new and improved features highlight the latest Startle Reflex packages from MED Associates Inc. New is the Pro series of PPI (pre-pulse inhibition) and FPS (fear potentiated startle) software. These user friendly applications were designed by Dr. William Falls of the University of Vermont to go from one step user input to data output. Another software/hardware package as part of the first test station is the MED-ASR-SPL Sound Pressure Level Measurement Package for precise stimulus calibration at intensities never covered by hand-held sound-level meters. This is especially critical for work with mice. Finally, the new test station includes components for standardizing the position of the stimulus speaker and animal platform while at the same time providing a balanced stimulus output.
This unit is the preferred unit for rodent studies using drug self administration. The working height has been reduced to 8 ¼" (21 cm) to allow sufficient space for a drug delivery swivel and counter balance arm when placed in a sound attenuating cubicle. The top has been modified by adding a 2" (5.1cm) diameter hole in the center of the top with a ¼" (6.4mm) access slot cut from the hole to the front edge. This permits the user to place an animal in the test chamber with a drug delivery leash or other harness system attached. All other features of this chamber are identical to the ENV-007 Modular Test Chamber.
Test performed with the VIDEOTRACK system
The system easily automates most tests based on locomotive activity:
With the use of cameras sensitive to near infra-red, you may also consider applications in Chronobiology or Actimetry in conditions of light and pseudo-darkness over long periods of time.

The MM Stereotaxic instrument, used on small animals, is derived from the M medical device series.
For a higher accessibility to the operating area, the device is equipped with a vertical axis for complete rotation.
The incisor bar can be moved to ease the use of non standard Atlas. The system is therefore raised to provide greater accessibility when placing the animal.
